The second Global Servant-Leadership Research Roundtable (GSLRR) was hosted by the Department of Management and co-sponsored by Erasmus University, the Netherlands, Regent University USA, and the University of Queensland. Roundtable Chair Sen Sendjaya said the roundtable attracted 40 participants from the Netherlands, US, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia, as well as senior executives from industry and government. “Servant leadership is a holistic approach to leadership that encompasses the rational, relational, ethical, and emotional sides of both leaders and followers. These dimensions are often neglected in organisations, which explains why many organisations with massive growth are not sustainable in the long run,” Dr Sendjaya said. “This roundtable has enhanced the profile of the Department of Management as one of key research centres for servant leadership in the world. Currently there are a few ARC-funded and doctoral research projects on servant leadership in the department,” Dr Sendjaya said.
